and... Spritz and Flick! Sounds Like a Harry Potter Spell!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

I am really enjoying being able to take part in the challenges using T!m Holtz techniques over at  Studio L3 and am loving the book (thanks Anita x) Anita Houston  there will be no stopping me... Yay! This weeks challenge is sponsored by the ever generous Simon Says Stamp. Just in case you are new to stamping and have no idea who Tim Holtz is, here is a link to one of the most enjoyable web sites EVAH! T!m Holtz

This tag was made using the Spritz and Flick technique... I really love this technique, it looks so effective and you never know quite how it will turn out. I recycled and embellished the heart shaped tag to go onto my background and my colour choice was inspired by a small tag (you can see it in the third photo) sent to me for my daughter by my friend Sue. This Life  That tag, is one of my daughters favourite possessions, she fell in love with it as soon as she got it. I have the best bloggy friends in the world

Sorry for such brief posting... Blogger is still playing me up a treat :(  Every time I add a photo, it immediately alters any text I have written to look as if it is a caption... leaving my background a different colour to my text. It is really annoying, I have had to remove my lovely pale blue background to lesson the effect of it. Until I can figure it out, I will have to employ BREVITY! Aaarrgh... not good xx If any one can advise me... I would really appreciate it

Tim Holtz, Happy Birthday Tim!

I wish I'd had longer to make something more elaborate for Tim Holtz's birthday  on January 7th - and seeing the fabulous creations appearing on http://studiol3.blogspot.com/  I'm a bit shy about posting this with them. I started with a piece of Coredinations Whitewash card, distressed, 'kiss' and 'ghost' stamped it (as I'd learnt during the 12 Tags of Christmas) embossing several times along the way. I used a T!m stamp for the 3 gentlemen and had a bit of fun giving them party hats... naturally T!m, being the birthday boy, got a  crown. which I embossed in copper. I cut them out (probably unwisely as I left my specs at work today) and die cut 3 Quickutz balloons and added his name.  I hand wrote the sentiment 'King for a day' with an embossing pen. It's prettier and more textured than in the photo, my camera is very simple and the light just bounced back in the piccy

Twelve Tags of Christmas 11 - Water splats and Embossing

OK then, the only thing I had in the way of supplies for this task was a 'Faded Denim Distress Ink' Anyone who has been kind enough to drop in on my recent efforts will know that this has been par for my course! Has that stopped me? Oh no, not a jot....quite the contrary in fact! Using techniques learnt this week on previous tags, coupled with the 'water splats'  from Tim blog today, I tried to emulate the  look of shrink plastic and to infuse my tag with as much texture as I could manage.

For the tag itself, I swooshed distress ink over paper, water splatted it, dried with a heat gun and  stamped and embossed snowflakes. I die cut 3 baubles using a Quickutz die, embossed them with a freebie folder, coloured the 'debossed' element with Sakura pens and found 3 clear plastic domed tags which (mostly) fitted over the baubles. I cut out the tree and added a sentiment.
