My 14 year olds first go at Drawing on an ipad!

Els's self portrait on her dad's new ipad, this was her first go at using it and was completed within a few minutes of her getting her hands on it when he came to collect her the other day. Her father was an art student back in the day (the creative gene runs deep in her blood on both sides of the family) and I was pleased to see that he had started to draw again as well.

I love this portrait... there is something great about 'first goes' at doing something new. It doesn't matter how something turns out, it is the excitement of a new challenge, a new media to play with. I love how part of it is realistic and part experimental as she played with texture and colour... well done daughter, you are far braver than me!

Eleanor has fallen in love with quotes to do with fashion and style (as can be seen by the quote she scribbled so elegantly on her tee shirt in the drawing)... she wants to incorporate them into a textiles project at school... If anyone knows any... please could you add them into the comments?

El's portrait is great, my dad has one for drawing on and my mum has I-phone for drawing on. My suggetion is that you go on goolge and look for "sayings" fashion saying you might find a site there, I used several sites but I cant remember them.

Fabulous, Els!

Love this! We have fabric writers here in the States. A product meant for writing on fabrics. Comes in a bottle like Stickles. Your handwriting is beautiful, Els!

Oh bother. Now I realize you want quotes, not how to write the quotes on fabric! Had I read the comments *before* I posted I'da known that! Agree with Carol. Try using Google with "fashion quotes" as your search.

Wow, that girl has talent. That is an amazing drawing. Your daughter has obviously got your talent gene!

The only quote I can remember was by Karl Lagerfeld (I think) "One is never overdressed or underdressed in a Little Black Dress". You could try google as Sue says above.

I am so proud of you Els...and jealous of all your moohoosive mounds of talent...you blessed girl!!! WOW!!! I did not even know an ipad could do this, but you really did it. I need an ipad! You have more talent in your pinkie than so many...use it well. With great power comes great responsibility. Oh...you want fashion quotes...lol!!! Let's see. Hmmmm...how about "The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."
— Audrey Hepburn

or

"Fashions fade, style is eternal."
— Yves Saint-Laurent

or

"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress."
— Karl Lagerfeld

or

"Elegance is the only beauty that never fades."
— Audrey Hepburn

or

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world."
— Marilyn Monroe

or

"Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman."
— Coco Chanel

Need more? LOL!!!! Wonderful work ELS!!!
